Just did this for fun. There are going to be some really fascinating choices by both teams protecting players and the Kraken choosing their roster. I don't see there being many great 1st line forwards available other than maybe from teams such as COL, PHI and maybe WPG or PIT.

Forwards: The depth is great, but the top 6 is barely competitive. But with a defensive base, could we get the new Islanders or Wild of the past few years? Good drafting and maybe a signing or two in FA could help this team do well in the long run.

Defence: Not bad if you ask me. Subban just seems like a good choice for a face of the franchise. Call me crazy. The other six I have in the lineup there are all fairly decent players (though maybe not Zadorov if you look at his underlying numbers) and there is certainly some depth.

Goaltending; you could do worse imho. Not a bad tandem, and Kinkaid was legitimately the best player available from NYR with a contract beyond this current year so he can work as a #3.

The future: The good, though maybe bad, thing here is that I tried not to pick any bad contracts. The result was very few contracts beyond about 2023. This is good for some flexibility. And as for young players, some of these guys are not old or washed by any means, and then there are players like Caleb Jones, Dylan Gambrell, and Haydn Fleury who offer some potential.

The lines were thrown together pretty quick but I think it mostly makes sense. The contracts I gave to any UFAs/RFAs were totally random - just gave a bit more to the better players.

Faces of the franchise: Tyler Johnson is from Washington state if I recall correctly, so he seems to be a popular candidate to end up in SEA. P.K. Subban is a popular face and a decent player at times (and only one year on his deal, but still a good leader to start the franchise off). The goalies might be popular, and the Holtby VS Vancouver rivalry could be fun.

I am a fan of the diversity on this team, both in terms of players types, and actual demographics.

Picks I am not a huge fan of: Watson is a pure grinder/enforcer that doesn't add a ton if you ask me. And Nick Cousins I have heard some odd/concerning things about, and given the good ownership and PR Seattle seems to have I doubt they take someone like him. Lastly, I would definitely expect them to pick players worth a MUCH lower cap hit than this roster.
