Due to expansion draft, I'd very much suggest doing the Risto trade only after the ExD.

Otherwise we'd just lose the guy immediately.

Although I don't think BUF would take it regardless. And I do think BUF just might be in Faksa's 5-team no-trade list, considering how bad team they are.

But "if Dallas misses," that implies that this season is over, so Cogliano and Oleksiak are free agents, and therefore their trade value is zero.

Am I crazy to think two 3rd/4th liners is nowhere near enough for risto? I know they wanted to get rid of him earlier but he’s been looking better than his intended replacements.

I think he could easily fetch a 2nd and I included Borgstrom because I thought he was out of favour with the Panthers. I don't know, maybe the Stars will keep Oleksiak and re-sign him.

If Borgstrom is out of favor then the trade makes a lot more sense but I would like to know why if it's attitude or something toxic then I would just keep oleksiak
