State of the Sharks

Created by: KingBurns
Team: 2020-21 San Jose Sharks
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 15, 2021
Published: Mar. 15, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
The Sharks are currently 7th in the West with 25 points (11-11-3) and a 50% win rate. It is definitely possible that they make the playoffs with just over half the season left, but pretty unlikely.

I think the most viable option is to sell at the trade deadline, even if we're poised to make the playoffs. I think we have a decent shot at making the playoffs next season and I think we should sell off some minor pieces for late-round draft picks and use our first-rounder to draft a forward. We can then sign a top-6 forward or two and be ready for a playoff push in the 2021-22 season.

This is also my first post so don't be too hard on me ;)

Since this is your first time I'll be nice. But u did this all wrong. You're supposed to trade all the guys u dont want , that nobody wants, for 1sts. But you'll learn the CF ways

Also if another team proposes any trade for a player on your team say its a bad trade

This is probably an even more important rule to learn!

ok but fr on this site, some people are just eternally going to diss you for no reason. Just in comments if someone is a jerk, use evidence and they'll usually not reply because they would never admit to being wrong.

As for the team you made, I would play Leonard and Gregor over any of the bottom line forwards. Those guys just won't be with the team long term (maybe True will be) but Gregor is destroying the AHL, just being flat out quicker than everyone, and Leno has proven he's an NHLer

I definitely agree that Leonard and Gregor are both more skilled than True, Handemark, and Gabriel, but I think it's important that we have some enforcers. Gabriel I think has really given these guys energy and I wouldn't be opposed to re-signing him for league minimum and having him play 4th line minutes when we play teams like Vegas next season.

I also think that since we're not really pushing for the playoffs that it makes more sense for Gregor's and Leonard's development to have top minutes in the AHL rather than 4th line minutes in the NHL.

I think Leonard played two games in the A this year, I was only able to catch one but he had a goal by being able to go end to end and outspeed AHL easily. In the the first 10 seconds of his cuda debut Gregor beat two dmen and scored bar down (it was awesome, I died laughing). I'm just not sure they will get anything from those games.
