Hyman laughs at your offer that is hillarious underpay

There’s wiggle room for some negotiations if he’s expecting much more then he can talk to another team.

In a perfect world with the way he’s playing he would get close to 5M and stay in Toronto, which he seems to want to do, but with a cap that’s not going up he will get 4M max from somewhere and it’s most likely not Toronto unless they can pawn off one of those large four contracts.

is Bear's value actually that low? Devils accept, they could really use a guy like Kassian too.

He's a UFA, I think he'll someone will offer around 5x5. Like most ufa's they'll need to over pay. I do think he would be perfect with Conner.

There’s no way he gets 5x5 even if there wasn’t a flat cap

It’s not haha. We need both guys. Kassians cap is high but he’s a modern day enforcer (that can score occasionally)

There is always someone willing to pay, maybe it comes in around 4.5 but for what he's on pace for I see it being closer to 5.

Hypothetically who could pay? Ottawa? Hyman wouldn’t sign there. Maybe Florida? Teams are tight on money. Perhaps Seattle could bite.

Yeah him and deslauriers, Marchand and Wilson come to mind but that’s about it. Rousell? Perry?

I’m not sure what bears value would be suggest it’s less than what us oilers fans would like to think. In this scenario I REALLY like the nurse Barrie pairing if can keep together for 2-3 years I see as a bigger threat than nurse bear pairing. Both Barrie and bear are prone to mistakes but from my eye Barrie follows his mistakes up properly bear is still prone to compound the mistakes. Also I’ve seen numerous horrendous line changes from bear. I love bear which does upset me to make the odd man out it’s a tough decision.
Kassian I would have agreed is valuable to this team however that player has been missing since he signed that extension and I think archie has been bringing the physical presence while providing smarter hockey than seen of kassian over the past year.

Bear is young. All young players make mistakes. Up until this year Mcdavid and draisaitls defensive advanced stats have been bottom 20 in the league. There is a less then 10 percent chance Barrie resigns. He was already due for a raise and took a prove it deal with Edmonton. Bear plays way better defense then Barrie. By next year when Klefbom is back we won’t need an offensive power play guy. Keeping Bear is better in the long run.

It’s between Barrie and Bear for the spot next to nurse. I think we are better right now and likely next year or two with Barrie. Nurse and Barrie have been productive and only scratched surface of chemistry between them. Experienced top four stop relying on youth in very significant roles.

I resigned him here while extending larsson without expecting a significant pay cut like most seem to think. Didn’t need to buyout Neal either.
