This is interesting but likely a no on both accounts. Dahlin is stuck in the same situation as Risto has for years, hopefully he doesnt have the same ending because he is a lot more talented. While on the other hand Habs fans are just getting to see what KKs potential actually is and wotn want to give that up early.

Long run probably a win for the Habs but I dont think either team does this right now.

Lets be honest here, this is no from Buffalo only. MTL would take this hands down. Not that they actively want to trade KK or anything. Doesnt mean Kotkaniemi isnt good. Hes been really good lately but Habs fans are letting a 10 game span of decent play cloud their judgement here. (Im a Habs fan btw)

Exactly. I can't understand why some people believe Habs would refuse this trade. In fact, I think they take this trade and run. #1 Defenseman are more valuable than #1 center.
this could be turn into another Seth Jones for Ryan Johansen. It was a ST win for the Preds as Johansen helped them reached SCF in 2017. Look back at that trade, it is a huge win for the Jackets as Jones is one of the top Dmen in the league. Reasons that no one is talking about that trade are their 2017 SCF appearance and Preds' abundance of good defensemen. Up until now, they could afford of losing an entire top 4. (Suter, Subban/Weber, Girard and Jones)

I would think about it if Eichel is simultaneously trade in another trade for the top LD package and the top 6 winger. Although I definitely would not want to trade Dahlin, we have a terrible coach, almost all the players regressed with him.

Agreed 100%. Im not even sure #1 dman is worth more than #1 centers but regardless of position, Dahlin is premier talent. Kk is not.

Kotkaniemi is playing well right now. I think he will be good for sure, just needs time but to say hes on par with Dahlin is not realistic.
