1. Leafs do not want a 3 million dollar ahl/taxi squad guy. Leafs don't do that Anaheim trade unless you through in Comtios at least, likely a pick as well.
2. Heck why not.
3. Ehhh, no point losing a goaltender for 2 weeks for what is at best a lateral move.
4. Ya, sure

Keep up the good work csick.

By no means do I think the Leafs take it, but in defense of that $3 mil ahl/taxi squad guy, he was put right back in the lineup and scored 5 pts in the 3 games following the "message" that was apparently sent. He's also rocking winning 58% of his faceoffs, and has been an above average possession player on a team that is absolutely listless offensively. This year is certainly the exception to "only bad players end up on waivers".

Henrique isnt a scrub, hes a very good 3C that can be a 2C sometimes but hes just overpaid

Oh my bad, I haven't seen any of Henrique's stats post waivers. He is probably still a capable nhl player, but the leafs don't want him.

Agreed. I have no problem keeping him, as he's a very safe option. If I'm the Ducks, yes, I'm going to expose him to Seattle in the hopes that we clear over $5 mil in cap space, but if they don't take him, I'm still fine.

Realistically, if the Ducks had options offensively, Henrique would be playing a shutdown role, starting the vast majority of his shifts in the d-zone. Instead, they're trying to make him something that he's not.

Certainly the trades don't help the Leafs...never mind giving away futures. Then you send 5 NHLers away and wait for weeks for the incoming 5 players to even practice.

That's fair, and if I'm the Leafs I'm not moving Nylander anyway. 50% of the fan base hates him, based purely on emotion, but the vast majority of the rest of us know exactly what he brings to the table.

To me, Rico @ $3 mil would be an incredibly valuable asset at 3C for you down the road, but I also think that without losing Kerfoot to Seattle, you're going to already have a tough time affording Hyman, who absolutely should be priority #1 for the Leafs at this point. This trade doesn't make that any easier anyway.

which is exactly what hed be on the Leafs. When u have a Tavares and Matthews, you need a guy like Pageau, Faksa, Danault, Henrique that can shutdown the other team and strictly play defence.

Well you are resorting to your technique of making the Leafs worth for the sake of your Senators.
Virtually all those players are having poor to average season. It's 2021, trading for incoming mediocrity doesn't the Leafs.

You mean he’s still that middle 6 C that scores 20g? It’s like he was never bad, just the coach/gm are.

ding, ding, friggin' ding.

Bob Murray's thought process on how to send a message to the team: Waive Rico.
Everyone else's thought process on how to send a message to the team: Fire Eakins.

Very, very true.

Ducks D-zone system: Play zone D in their own end, so it looks like they're on the PK 99% of the time.
Offensive system: Who would know? We're too busy watching the puck in our own zone to worry about what we'd do if we got into the other end.
