Way too much to give up for Forsberg. Kerfoot, a 1st rd pick and a mid level prospect would be enough

That wouldn't be enough to make Nashville trade their best forward. I honestly don't know that it would be good enough to even get Ekholm. Not that Ekholm isn't a good player, but if Forsberg were to be traded, it would be for a package that Poile couldn't pass up.

so a 19 year old a first a second and a roster player, that’s a good package for someone with 1.5 left

I was referring to the comment that said Kerfoot, a first, and a mid-level prospect was enough for Forsberg. Your offer was much better.

Our best players are 24 and under. Why would you only want two shots?

You must think Forsberg is not a 30 goal scorer or something.

1 (very likely 2) of Rielly, Hyman and Forsberg would be gone within two years in your scenario.

So, the odds of winning get worse 2 years from now when two of those players have walked out the door.

Rielly is already walking. Hyman can still sign 4x4 in the offseason

They can afford Hyman if they save enough $$ in nets (no guarantee).

So Rielly walks, Sandin's gone, Dermott lost to Seattle and Muzz, Brodie and Holl would all be 30 and over.

So, back to square one with the defence sucking within a few years.

I also don't find it really likely the Leafs have $4m Hyman and $7M+ Forsberg in the same lineup 2 years from now. If everyone thought they were top-heavy with forwards before.

With the new television deals and the expansion money the cap is likely to go up a few million. ANdersen is the one that will be gone for a cheaper goalie that likely would put up better numbers with the improved Dcorp. Holl as well should be gone
