A lot of Bertuzzi/Mantha to Toronto ACGMs where Detroit’s needs aren’t addressed. If you want either start with Sandin and add. RD is looking good, Kerfoot can easily be replaced for cheaper via FA (eg Haula), and picks.

Oh boy! Joey Anderson! And the garbage Red Wings trades just keep rolling in. What's next? Larkin for Vesey? Is Steve Yzerman a dummy? No he isn't.

For the last time, Detroit doesn't want or need Kerfoot and Detroit doesn't need Liljegren as our RD is our strongest asset. Once again none of these fills a need for us.

What’s the honest ask for bertuzzi ?
It’s not a first Rounder and top prospect so

He’s like a 20 goal 40 point guy
That’s not
First rounder and mid level prospect

It's more then that, it's what he brings. Amirov + first gets it started or no deal and we'll keep him happily

Okay then maybe Sandin instead and take out pick
But free agents are not sign I g with Detroit fir cheap till they get better. If a good Free agent is signing cheap it’s with a contender for a chance at a cup

Bertuzzi > Kapanen and the return should reflect that.

Free agents sign for a multitude of reasons and not to just chase a cup for cheap. Besides how many true contenders have a decent amount of cap this offseason?

I’d ask for Sandin + 1st for Bert without any filler

Leafs don’t do that I assume. Just like like you say wings don’t. So guess it’s not a good trade.
But that being says 2nd, Anderson ( mid prospect ) and Kerfoot.
Yes contenders do have that space for the low price bargain free agent

So how does Toronto fit a “bargain” 3.5M player in next year while also replacing Freddy? Teams like Vegas can really only hold pat as they’re at the ceiling already and Tampa is well over the ceiling due to Kuch’s LTIR. So unless you’re talking about 700k-1M players then we’re talking about different things. I’m talking about non-4th liners and bottom pair defensemen.

You were talking about guys like Haula, Simmons. Not 3.5 million players. Freddie will be replaced by another goalie in the 4-5 mil range

I only mentioned Haula as a comparable production vs Kerfoot to show that he doesn’t hold too much value due to his contract which is why I referenced 3.5M. Toronto can’t add a goalie like you want and a 3.5M bargain player nor can Vegas or Tampa (haven’t looked at any other contenders). The point is moot though as free agents sign for a variety of reasons and not to take league minimum in the hopes they can win a cup (at least not top 6/4 guys).

I would say it will take more than you got for Kapanen. Bertuzzi (126 points in 208 games) has put up more points in fewer games than Kapanen (108 points in 226 games. Bertuzzi has played more minutes but he is also going against the other teams best defensive players.

So I'm gonna disagree a little bit here. I can see kerfoot being a good addition to the middle 6. I can't really see this trade working for bertuzzi though. Hes just one of those gguys whos worth so much more than just his stat line. I'm gonna echo what in say all the time on these leaf deals, itbstarts with sandin.
