I'd like to know what has happened to Domi. He was exceptional at the WJC tourney then was a good player for a number of years on a meh team, then traded to Montreal, crushed it, looked like a great 2C option then became a Blue Turd. What happened? Did he have any injuries? Is he just not getting puck luck? Is he lazy? Can't see that being the case but who knows.

Thanks. I think Pittsburgh fans seem pretty united on wanting to add a skill forward, and Domi hasn't seemed to find a home in Columbus. Pettersson isn't going to push Werenski off the Jackets' top pair, but he opens up the option for them to trade Gavrikov for some kind of a center, while keeping their blue line pretty good. So the fit is right in terms of Pittsurgh being in a position to offer up the right value, and if CBJ accepts they're rebuilding this year, then they can work out positional needs on their own.

I think Columbus really hoped to bring in a #1 center when they got Domi, so Eichel or Kuznetsov would be ideal returns for them, but could be expensive. I'm not sure whether Bennett still has #1 potential, but Columbus has little to lose by trying him out, there. With so many people comparing Laine to Ovechkin, I think Kuznetsov could be a good linemate/teacher for Laine, but obviously the Caps probably like having the option of playing Kuznetsov with Ovechkin, still. And then Buffalo fans just seem to want six first round picks for Eichel, so I don't think he's really going anywhere.

I could see something along the lines of

        TO CBJ

        Marcus Pettersson
        Sam Lafferty
        2022 3th Round Pick

        TO PIT

        Max Domi
        Scott Harrington

Well my friend, that is certainly an interesting offer.
Domi playing with Skinner and Reinhart could revive his career
Werenski would challenge Dahlin for LHD ice time
1st not likely to be a lottery pick but still taken on the first day of the draft
Foudy and Robinson not great additions.
I know you try to be fair and this is a good start.
If Domi returned to his previous performance level it could be a good move for Buffalo.

You're right. It's not enough for Eichel. And I think Columbus fans are hoping Domi just magically turns into Eichel after Tortorella benches him the fiftieth time.

If one of CBJ or Buf decided it was rebuilding, the other could grab some centers from it, and end up with decent depth there, but with each team still kinda hoping to hold onto this season, it's tough to see the two agreeing on much.
