Under Quinn the NYR has been meh. Now he and his coaching staff is sidelined due to quarantine, and NYR gets to play under the AHL coaching staff.

The result - they lead 9-0 against one of the frontrunners after the 2nd period, with Zibanejad finally starting to perform.

The question rises - is Quinn really the best guy for that position after all?

Naturally this might be a complete outlier, but if their absence gets longer and they keep up getting good results, one should consider a coach change...

If the Rangers miss the playoffs again this season, I think they sack him. In some ways he's been a pretty good coach, at least from what the fans can see on a daily basis. But, most importantly, Kakko hasn't developed much since his draft and Alexis has been a little disappointing, too. Quinn came from BU so his development was supposed to be his greatest asset. I'm not even blaming him. Sometimes you gotta make changes quickly b/c the league is so competitively balanced.

Well the Flyers are a good team on paper but have sucked for a decent part of the season, and it’s probably an outlier

If they do, it might be the best case scenario for the Buffalo Sabres right now. Maybe reuniting with Eichel could sway him to take a very unattractive job.

They were a frontrunner in almost every prediction when the season begun.

Naturally no one expected Hart and that defense fold this bad.
