He's not joking. Ekholm is gonna be very expensive. But not that expensive. I'm thinking a 1st, a 2nd, and a B/B+ prospect. But certainly not an A+ prospect AND 3 picks lol.

It’s a buyers market this year. I think we may be surprised at how cheap some of the deals may be this year. Almost every team has internal budget restraints and have an XD to worry about on top of whatever Covid protocols and isolation requirements. This is not the year to overpay for rentals

The biggest issue is the expansion draft were a team would need to give up a slot to protect him and/or risk losing another important piece or either Ekholm himself it they don’t protect him... that’s what deterring a lot of teams

Ekholm is a 30 year old (31 in 2 months) high end top 4 defensemen who has a year and a half remaining on his contract till he’s UFA

Perfetti is uNtOuChAbLe... just like every top 10 prospect in the 2020 draft

I think it might be a bit lower than the Muzzin deal. That deal was pre Covid. No flat cap, no internal budget restraints and no expansion draft to worry about. Factor all those in and I think he goes cheaper. That said, someone always overpays.
