I don't reasonably suspect seattle bites on JVR

I think you’d need to add a 2nd to that wild deal.

In a way, this deal is good, but not close to what wild are going to accept.

Wild don't want to get rid of/ trade dumba.

Wild aren't going to take back any d in a trade

Wild aren't exposing dumba in expansion if not traded

    Wild are stacked on d.

Carson soucy gets exposed, & wild convince Seattle go take him

Than calen Addison gets called up. Ian Cole will get resigned meaning wild have zero need/ room for d

Sanhiem negates a lot of Dumba's value with his own, which offsets the need for any additional picks. Sanhiem is pretty much just a slightly younger Brodin with much the same ceiling as him as well.

We'd still be forced to go 4×4-1 in the expansion draft because he's that good, but getting Frost on top of it is literally the cherry on top.

Future top 6 as soon as next year of...

    Brodin-Spurgeon
    Sanhiem-Addison
    Suter-Soucy/Cole

I'm getting literal chills just thinking about it. This is a hella good return for Dumba even sans the 1st or 2nd round picks.

I'd do this in a heartbeat!

I think that they might if they look at it in a James Neal situation. Pure goal scorer they get in the short term to provide offence (he would only have 2 years left at the time of the expansion draft)

curious to get a wild's fan perspective on this. I assumed that they would leave suter unprotected cause I can't imagine that seattle would take that contract. Am I wrong?

Hopefully Guerin could get both Parise and Suter to waive their NMCs for expansion purposes. I think if that happens, Seattle takes Soucy assuming they go the 7-3-1 route and protect all the forwards you'd expect. Guerin could hopefully extend Cole on a cheaper deal and then roll some combo of Suter/Spurgeon, Brodin/Addison, Sanheim/Cole next year which is still a solid defense. There's also the chance Menell comes back from the KHL next year and that's just more right side depth. I'd probably take the trade above assuming Frost seems like a legit NHL player.
