Description

Canucks need a 3C who can be a good complimentary piece for Vesey and has some size. Trading within the division will save the 14 day quarantine.

Even though Virtanen is obviously the better player, he doesn’t play centre. You have to give in order to get of course.

I know matthews doesn’t provide much in terms of scoring but he’s at least a net neutral option and Vesey will be carrying the play on that line anyways.

This could also help the Canucks survive injuries if one of the PP2 regulars gets hurt, matthews can spot fill in that role. Not ideal but can work in a pinch

I like this, solid 1 for 1 where both teams get a bit of what they need. Canucks get a guy who can score here and there, win faceoffs and help the 3rd line. Leafs get speed and physicality whilst dumping some cap dollars. Very nice move.
