Swing large or dont even bother

Created by: Trevorchef
Team: 2020-21 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 18, 2021

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This would be one of the best top six forward units in the entire NHL. Hands down.

Without expending top tier assets... you take your best swing IMO. This is a great start.

If they can add some depth on the blue line, even better.

Were this ever on the table, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

The picks arent even that nice I would rather get a good prospect and a long term prospect than a 20211st and 2nd

Teams usually don’t trade their top prospects for rentals though
But sure, that would be great

I don't understand the non love for Kerfoot. Any contender has to send cap back in a trade. The futile Preds and Sabres would welcome Kerfoot.
But I question even a Kerfoot and Hall trade straight up. Hall hasn't been good for over a year. Leafs would lose Kerfoot and would have go wait weeks for Hall to be in the lineup.

I just don’t think Sabres fans are interested in the same 5guys u Leafs fans are all trying to trade
Kerfoot, Andersen, Engvall, etc etc etc

The picks are nice though
Just depends what other teams would offer for Hall

BUF could easily flip Kerfoot to a bubble team in need of a center for more futures, too.

But according to many Sabres fans, Hall is worth Kerfoot and 1st and 2nd round pick. And Hall has less than 20 points.
No team is going to weaken their team when acquiring a UFA to make a Cup run. Why anyone think Hall is a difference maker...I don't know why?

Kerfoot and a 1st and 2nd in this draft is not much to give up. This draft is terrible and Kerfoot isnt good. If you think Kerfoot is such a great player and Hall is terrible (Hall who has 579 points in 656 career games including 105 points in his last 127 games), well thats your opinion. Its weird but whatever, keep Kerfoot. I think people just like to make assumtions and kick the Sabres franchise when their down because its easy to make negative assumptions, no one is going to question you. None of you are watching the team. 1000 lies become truth. Someone says something negative about someone on the Sabres and other trolls pick up on it and repeat until its accepted as fact. Just like people saying Eichel gave up on Buffalo, when he was playing the entire year with a torn muscle in his neck. Just like everyone dumping on Skinner and refusing to admit 12 minutes a game on the 4th line, only because the coach hated him, with a majority defense starts is not good enough usage for a goal scorer. These opinions are easy to ignore. The problem in Buffalo is very obviously not Taylor Hall.

Kerfoot scored 42 and 43 in consecutive years in Colorado, playing less then 82 games each time. The next year he wasn't as good, but still put up 28 in 65, which is over a 30 point pace. This season he'd be on pace for around 40 in an 82 games season (this year he'll still likely eclipse 20). So where is this 20 point part coming from... Kerfoot isn't an elite player by any means, but he's a good middle 6 guy and he holds value. He doesn't have negative value. He's better than Johnsson and Johnsson fetched a former 2016 3rd round pick who will almost certainly be an nhler at one point.

So where is this 20 point part coming from... make sure when you have facts, they are true. It looks bad if they aren't.

Get out of here with that elitist attitude. Makes me want to puke even having to respond to a comment so entitled. If hes so great, you already have him, stop putting out 20 trades a day swapping Kerfoot for Hall then

Ok, keep Hall.
I'm sorry if I sound harsh or rude. That was not my objective. I just was curious where you got the under 20 point part because he's never scored that.

Well the Leafs could handle a Hall for Kerfoot maybe....although I don't understand why, but the ridiculousness of adding a first and second rounder as suggested by this post is just foolish.
We'll see what the Sabres get at TDL, but I can't imagine any team wanting to give in much for the 2021 version of Hall. The reason Kerfoot is included in so many trades is more to k make the cap work. Virtually any trade for Hall will see about equal money for the retained Hall going back to the Sabres.
