It’s not enough quality. Strome is a good player, but he wouldn’t fit in the rebuild timeline. Howden flat out is horrible, Kakko seems like he’s going to be a defensive forward which is fine, but you need to produce when you are a lottery pick. And they don’t need any defensive prospects.

I've kind of soured on the idea of acquiring Eichel.

We saw last game that the real Mika is still there somewhere. Strome has put all the "Only Good with Bread" naysayers to rest. Chytil still improving. More depth beyond those 3 would be nice, but we're better off at C then people think.

Not as excited to give away the farm for 1 guy who hasn't much made of a difference where he already is.

Stay the course for now. Maybe even keep our fingers crossed that Barkov doesn't resign with the Panthers. More UFA options.
