Additional Details:
Logic: Assuming Tortorella re-signs, he could potentially figure things out with DeAngelo; NYR would pay extra in this trade as it allows them to avoid buying out DeAngelo. CBJ can easily afford to buy him out if needed during a rebuild.

They've got Stastny expiring and they need one more 2nd line winger and then their top 6 will be set.

Stastny could re-sign and they have some young kids needing time. No need to pay a premium for a guy who's been injured all year and really isnt that good of a players anyways. Plus i dont think CLB retains that much for the rest of his contract

Rangers dont need a guy who seems to complain and cause problems wherever he goes

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by causing problems considering he handled his desire for a trade the right way (unlike Pierre-Luc Dubois for example) and hasn't really been the cause of any issues in Columbus apart from talking back to the assistant coach in his third game. Just because you get benched doesn't mean you're causing a problem.

Lol no it's not.

Lauzon - playing top pairing minutes w/ McAvoy before injury and as well as an anchor on the top PK unit (which is one of the top PK's in the NHL)

Grz - well documented that he's was a top 4 last year but stuck behind Chara and Krug

Zboril/Vaak - two guy right now that are more that bottom 4 group, but no issue w/ either guy playing 2nd pair

Then they have their depth guys like Moore and Tinordi. Prospect wise they have Lohrei (monster season so far in the USHL), Ahcan made his debut last night and while undersized scouts comp him as a blend of Krug and Grz.

Again LHD is not a weakness. Would I take someone like an Ekholm? Sure, he'd be fantastic to pair w/ McAvoy.

On the flip side the RHD pretty much stops at McAvoy and Carlo. But please continue to tell me how Boston is set at RHD.

Grizz should be second pair at best. Lauzon shouldn’t be in the top four but he can be in some circumstances. Vaak and Zbroil are not ready imo. It’s not a major weakness but it’s certainly not an organizational strength.

Stats don’t back that up. Mcavoy is carrying the 6.

Which stat?

SA/60 - 2nd fewest
GA/60 - 4th fewest
xGA/60 - 3rd lowest

Not to mention they have the top PK% in the NHL. So again, which stat are you talking about.
