The avs have a real back up in Francouz, they wanted additional depth while he is out, so could be a sign they have a timeline on his return and don’t want expensive 3rd goalies on the roster

Luukkonen may get some games coming up. Hutton and Tokarski isn't the most sturdy tandem. Ullmark better be back soon. Meanwhile, I hope Luukkonen comes to the taxi squad and maybe even gets some games in.

True, but when the heck is Francouz coming back. He's been out all season. I'd expect Miska or Werner in the trade too. Once Francouz is healthy, they have Grubbauer, Francouz, Johansson, Miska, Werner, and Annunen. That is a bit too deep.

he has yet to prove he is even a good AHL goalie, there is no need to rush him and frankly he doesn't deserve NHL time at this point.

That’s the mystery, no clue and we won’t know until he’s on the ice at practice bc avs never give injury timelines. Just gotta assume a move like this is a sign they aren’t concerned with him out the whole season
