Additional Details:
This is a worst case scenerio, as in Evans, Vejdemo, Weal, and Poehling are all tried first and it doesn't work out. Which I find highly unlikely, but still included it as an option. Would only give a 3rd if DET retains.
Vejdemo is having a good year and is at the age where he needs to get a chance in the NHL. His speed would be something different over Evans.
Weal has always been a good faceoff guy, the only reason he hasn't got a chance to play in the NHL this year IMO is because of his contract, benefits MTL more to keep $1.075M buried at this time, but at the end of the year this isn't the case.
Lastly we have Ryan Poehling, who would be wasted on the 4th line at this stage of his development but towards the end of the season this role could be his. Poehling is looking really good in Laval recently, if he keeps it up he could even play a top 9 role for MTL if injuries occur or someone else is slumping.
Caufield is coming too, so MTL doesn't need to do much for forward help, D is more of a concern.
