Description
VAN trade is made after this season, but before the expansion draft. This allows the Penguins to protect both Blueger and McCann. Vancouver could easily protect Zucker and he comes in to replace Pearson (who may walk) and also fill in what has been missed since Toffoli left. Penguins take on Beagle, who is overpaid, so it helps Vancouver get rid of a bad contract, but he can be a solid 4C for the Pens. They also add 3 future assets. With the potential insertion of Poulin into the lineup and the fact that McCann has been a solid top 6 fit, this deal can be made. You obviously do not recoup the assets you gave up, but you get what he is worth.

Expansion draft: Crosby-Malkin-Guentzel-Rust-McCann-Kapanen-Blueger
Letang-Dumoulin-Pettersson
Jarry

Seattle's top options in my opinion are ZAR, Tanev and DeSmith. I think they would take ZAR, but DeSmith could be an interesting choice as well.

LAK trade is made during draft, due to a crowded left side. Penguins have Dumo, Matheson and Pettersson, but will want to make room for POJ. Pettersson is the obvious one to get moved, but if Pens want to get younger/get a better return, Dumo could be moved.

Sign a 3rd and 4th line RW to fill up roster. I brought back Rodrigues, but someone new could be signed. I think there is an opportunity to bring in someone sick. The main guy I think would fit that role is Armia, but there are options like Hoffman and Tatar who could play their offwing and be sick. Hyman would be insane, but hard to see him leaving TOR.

Side note: I would consider swapping Sid and Teddy's wingers just to spread the wealth.

I really hope we don’t lose ZAR. The MP trade doesn’t really move the needle. I could see him being moved after the expansion draft when we may have a better feel of what the cap may be. I’d also hate to lose ZAR to expansion.

Pettersson doesn't fit in LA. The Kings are looking to upgrade their 1LD. Pettersson is a fine option for 2LD, but Bjornfot and Anderson already have that spot covered.

As of right now, were losing Blueger or McCann, which isnt much better. That Pettersson trade is made during the draft. I think we move an LD at some point this offseason.

All I know is that they were after a LD that is 25 or younger. The 2 guys that come to mind are Pettersson and Dunn.

Yeah I feel like value may be a little short, but I really wasnt sure what to add. Would swap 1st for 2nd and 4th, but doubt they move the 1st in this deal.

Yeah if it’s a first then no chance. Maybe swap out Lockwood for a better prospect like woo or Lind

I like Lind, but the goal is to get someone exempt. Woo would be decent, but he has struggled. I would like Rathbone, but dont know if he goes. I would remove the 4th if Rathbone is in over Lockwood.

They're more after a guy like Sergachev or Werenski.

Not saying they'll be able to get one of them, but they're not going to make a trade for a guy like Pettersson because the guy they actually want isn't available.

I think we lose McCann. Which is ok cause we have a replacement for McCann in the pipeline who is likely to jump in the nhl next year. And I’d be ok with that if we can keep the ZAR-Blueger-Tanev line in tact. Which would make trading Zucker unnecessary.

I have liked McCann. I guess if he goes, the only real change in our lineup next season would be Poulin in for McCann.
