Aside from the Leafs not being able to afford his cap hit, don't think it would be wise to revisit an experiment that didn't work the first time. Is he still getting beat high glove on a regular basis?

The Canes are retaining on Hamilton’s new contract?

That’s absurd

(Not to mention the rest of that ridiculous proposal)

First off Arizona can only offer Hamilton 7 years not 8 years only Carolina can offer 8 unless it's a sign and trade. Carolina isn't retaining $1,000,000 per season for 8 years GMs don't do things like that in a flat cap COVID world. besides i doubt Hamilton has any interest in Arizona anyways. The only decent piece Carolina is even getting in the deal is Clayton Keller.

Carolina is still giving up the best pieces in the deal though, Bokk, Suzuki and Hamilton noway does Carolina make this trade. And noway do i see Hamilton even remotely having any interest what so ever in Arizona.

In no way do I think this is a good deal for either side.

I guess I'd be curious as to why you think he wouldn't have any interest in Arizona though?
