Instigators

Created by: DDossett
Team: 2020-21 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 16, 2021
Published: Mar. 22, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
So...this is unlikely but The Instigators radio show pitched the idea of karlson for skinner and it was interesting as maybe it would give dahlin a boost to have a legend as a partner. The Meier part is just me hoping to improve. There is a good chance skinner can add speed and scoring to san jose. And buffalo needs a few power forwards to accent thier skill players. Let me know if you think this team does any better next year and how much more im going to have to pay for the trades plz. Im trying not to take on anymore cap for the future as i have dahlin, reinhardt and others to sign next year.

Karlsson doesn't want to be in a rebuild, why would he waive to an even worse team... THATS ALREADY IN A REBUILD. One that has been happening for 10+ years now

Flames Accept and Run with this trade. Olofsson has a deadly 1 T and he is a pp scorer. #STOPVICTOROFOLSSONSLANDER

The Wild have ZERO interest in Staal. He was traded away for a reason and he won't be welcomed back even if we need a Center. It wasn't probably anything he personally did, but BG changed the locker room and him leaving was part of that change. He got rid of most of the vets he could that were "in charge" of that locker room... and would have moved 11 and 20 if he could.

Avs trade really does very little for them, so doubt there'd be any interest.

For the life of me i dont understand people wanting to trade olofsson. He has 30 goals in 89 games. Bennett has 63 for his career in 300 more games. I get that he doesnt produce 5v5, but he scores at a very nice clip on the pp, and with his shot that shouldnt change. I dont know if hes ever going to engage or find space to translate into any kind of 5v5 scorer, but theres a spot somewhere on your roster for a 3m pp specialist.

So do you have an actual review of the idea or just like saying people are idiots without justification?

I want to say that your deals look strange and unrealistic, it doesn't happen.

1. Olofsson > Bennett
2. Bad deal with NYI
3,. Trade with San Jose just doesn't happen for many reasons

More of a have to trade something for something. I haven't watched many calgary games but what I've seen i like Bennets game and think he's the kind of 3rd line center that add's a little grit to the team and really shines in the play offs. He hasnt lived up to his draft hype but hes still young, could be a kevin hayes in two years, could be a total bust.
On the other hand im not sure olofson has the same success without elite players constantly setting him up for one timers on the PP. Its not that he doesn't score 5 v5 its that he doesn't do anything 5v5 and i think he's going to want a pay day for it. But ive been wrong before i just feel he's worth more now than he will ever be and rather than pay him i'd rather get the high value.

Well i dont think we get meier. But a little hypnosis on karlson could get him moving do you like swapping him for skinner as bad contracts go?

No, I would like to see what else Skinner can do with a good coach and in the top 6. Karlsson's contract is worse, he is older, he is more prone to injury, he is not a shutdown defenseman, he will not be a good partner for Dahlin. Also, we should not trade our first round for Timo Meier.

Also, you shouldn't trade Olofsson for Bennett. Olofsson is much more expensive and Bennett cannot produce. If you want to get Bennett or a player of his type, you can do it much cheaper.

This lineup is bad because: Okposo and Komarov washed and can no longer play in the NHL and produce. Bennett and Pekar too cannot produce. Mitts and R2 almost not proven players. Bailey will age badly too and will not be worth his contract. I would have had a completely different vision of our squad next season.

Staal is probably the most interesting piece for the Avs from BUF. #3C is the biggest area of weakness on the Avs.
