Very pleased to see Kesselring and the Oilers put pen to paper. It's a year earlier than I expected: Kesselring made all indication that he'd sign after his junior year, not his sophomore year.

Damn the Oilers organization for not actually releasing the contract details every time they sign someone though. No way this contract is a max ELC.

I was expecting another year in NCAA too, but now that I think about it it's probably better for his development to play in Bakersfield with Dave Manson molding him for a couple of years instead. He's got incredible raw talent, he just needs Manson's touch to put it all together. This is likely the best way.

He moves pretty well for a bigger defender. Definitely a good sleeper prospect

He moves well in transition and has a lot of good offensive tools and instincts, but he has tonnes of work to do on the defensive side of things.

If he puts it all together over the next couple of years in the AHL, he will be someone to keep an eye on. He has a bunch of untapped potential, the most of all the RHD prospects other than Bouch, so he is really exciting addition IMO.
