That isn't how the NHL works. You don't just trade so much junk and things for a rebuilding team.

K, well not junk, but 12 player trades don’t really happen any more, and that 2nd trade has no picks.

Draft pick values will be at a historical low this season. Players that are worth equivalent to a certain draft rank will be seen as more valuable then the pick you can grade or allocate them to. Abramov lit up the Q, lots of talent and plus skater. Andersen once upon a time was captain for team USA WJC, Rubins you can say is trash, but swap him out for Kral who played really well in the AHL, and in CZECH1. Kivihalme is a late bloomer, but was a half a point per game D in the LIIGA as a 22 and 23 year old which is impressive, and has lit up the A this season. That's not trash, maybe Columbus would be swayed with more quality and less quantity, but the NHL works in the way that GM's pull triggers on trades that will benefit them in the time they need. TOR is now, CBJ is in a few season.

Scott was also WHL goalie of the year few years back, and had hip surgery in 2019 if I'm not mistaken. Maybe a reclamation project, but the talent is clearly there. He was labeled as a steal not long ago Very Dustin Wolf-esk

Swap Liljegren with Sandin and I think Nashville actually says yes.

There's too much 'meh' in that CBJ trade. They don't get better so they say no.

Please provide some examples of teams trading away 16 assets at the trade deadline in the cap era.

We'll wait.
