Too much man. Grab Haula or Granlund and call it quits. A depth d-man would definitely be a good pickup if EJ is done for the season though.

Why? They are sitting Timmins right now and have Patteryn and Renauf who have filled in adequately.

If they have that cap space to use, I'd like to see them add rental depth pieces on D and the bottom-six to account for injuries that will likely happen. A decent G would be nice but it was pointed out to me that the Avs currently have 6 G under contract so I can't see them adding anyone else.

Again why? They are sitting Timmins right now, burying Patteryn and Renauf proved he is capable in a pinch what is a rental going to provide? Bottom 6 sure the right piece, and who knows about goalie.

I'd rather a boone jenner or nick foligino... even a heavy hitting 4th liner, than haula and granlund whatever the avs trade rumours are

Who are some of the guys you'd target as a heavy hitting 4th liner?

EDIT: Just saw your other post below.

Wagner isnt really what I mean, hes gotta be good enough to make the lineup, Wagner couldnt and isnt rough enough.. I'm talking about a jenner, foligini, bennett, crouse, or watson. They have to be better than oconnor who has played great this year..

Really like what you said about hall though

I agree that some sandpaper would be nice to add, but as you said it would need to be a clear upgrade on Bellemare or LOC. Ideally it's a 3C though, like Jenner.

It's purely a question of if you trust them for a stretch run in the playoffs. If you trust them, then no worries, but you can never have enough quality defensemen as we've seen early on this season.

Timmins Patteryn Renauf that’s 7,8 and 9 what really is some rental guy going to add, it’s not like they are going to add Hedman I just don’t see the point of eating a single resource on it. But that’s me.

The original basis was to add some size and nastiness to protect the younger and smaller D we have, as well as still being good enough to be an improvement on the above mentioned trio.,nothing more than that really. It's the one thing we're lacking imho. That's the main reason for targeting EG as well as the fact he would be above the three guy's you've mentioned. As I stated somewhere earlier it would all depend on the cost which I'm none too sure about. A pick for EG I'd do for that added security. I agree with Foppa21 about using the cap space for a run if we've got it (i.e. EJ isn't going to be back) but also you don't throw assets away willy nilly just to add guys for the sake of it.

Sure, but I think size in the NHL has never been less important than ever. I would dare teams to try and play a “physical” game with the Avs, especially if it is outside of what how they normally play. AZ tried to be more physical and super forecheck and they were kinda successful for one period. Vegas is the one team in the division (read path to the final 4) that concerns me in a 7 game series if you can make some moves that help beat them specifically I’m ok with that.

I just hope my fears prove unfounded and there's another cup coming to Denver.

They play in the playoffs like they have recently and there is a good chance of that

If last season's playoffs taught us anything, it's that there is no such thing as too much depth

Bellemare is doing exactly what I want him to, hes staying in the lineup, it would need to be an upgrade on LOC or compher
