A Possible Eichel Trade

Created by: Polkypolk

Description
Just ream me for it... idk guys if the rangers really want him, they'll have to give up either kaako or lafreniere, I chose kaako as lafreniere's ceiling is higher and eichel > kaako + 1st, also adding skinner as he may play better on new team, helps get Sabres out of a bind but instead they take deangelo, i think trouba > miller so another upgrade there, in the end I'm just another pleb peddling my soap so let me know whatcha think

Wow, where do I begin? Nobody wants DeAngelo, especially with that contract. Strome is an overpaid third line center. Kakko sucks, soon to be comparable with Nail Yakupov. These players don’t even get you Sam Reinhart.

Trouba and his NMC says Hell No, Kakko is a joke 27 points in 89 career NHL games. No one wants that Deangelo contract. Not even close for Jack Eichel/

Truth is, Eichel is stuck since no team is gonna give up what they are asking for. You're right, some of these players are meh, but have proven to be good in the past. Time tells all. But Eichel will prob suck it up till contract is done then peace out. Gl with that

Buffalo has said if they trade Eichel they're rebuilding through the draft so they want picks/prospects. A cap-neutral Eichel trade is not what they're interested in, whether or not it's close to balanced in current player value.

So just for balance you traded Trouba for Skinner be honest. Then somehow thought Eichel and Miller are worth a guy the Rangers exiled and washed their hands of, a guy on his 3rd team that in all honesty has been nothing particularly special in Strome, a trending badly in the wrong direction prospect in Kakko, and a 1st. I’m not a Sabres fan but would you take Mittlestadt a 1st, Lazar and Skinner for Panarin and Trouba? That’s kinda what you offered.

right because a 20 year old with 27 points is so low. while so many greats before him have not even been able to muster up those types of years

You mean his games where he has 29 career pts in 90 games, where he had a historically awful rookie season for a #2 overall, but sure we will get super excited about 6 pts in 24 games. Sure that .55 xG/60 and 55.2 CF are nice but guys drafted 2nd overall that shouldn’t be their calling card and let’s be honest who in the top 10 from the 2019 draft would trade their pick straight up for him? NJ (Hughes), CHI (Dach), COL(Byram), LA (Turcotte), DET (Seider), BUF (Cozens), and ANA (Zegras) all say no. But of everything I said about an Eichel trade you take umbrage with me saying Kakko is trending in the wrong direction. I’m legitimately not being a smart ass because at the time I was hoping COL got him, but tell me he doesn’t have less value than he did a year ago.

At this point the NY Rangers rebuild is going better then Buffalo's rebuild. Rangers should not try to tweak what they have with Buffalo. IMO resigning Mika for a team freindly contract in 2022/2023 would be much better then bringing in Eichel.

My point is he played last year on the 3rd line all those other players you mentioned played in a bigger role he's gotten his defensive game up and in the one game since then that he's played with panarin and strome he put up numbers. But sure tell me that barkov, hubby, kuch, and stammer are busts

Barkov had 24pts in 54 games his rookie year, Huberdeau had 31 in 48, Kucherov was a 2nd rd pick but had 18 in 52, and Stamkos had 46 in 79. But go the hyperbole route of bust, did I say bust no. I said he was trending in the wrong direction.

that's essentially saying a bust. My point is for the rest of the season likely hell be in a bigger role and will prob have a better sample size. (you also don't realize that he essentially doesn't play any PP time because there second unit comes out for maybe the last 30 seconds. Hughes for example is the exact opposite he's playing essentially first line minutes this season and hasn't put up very crazy numbers himself and he's a center and was taken before kakko so I don't think its really fair to judge him this early when he hasn't truly had legit minutes and chances in the top 6 this season.

And this was my point, it is fair to judge him. He has 90 games and in the context of this post he is being traded for an elite top 10 C. Do I think he is a bust no, do I think he is doing better sure, do I think he should be producing more definitely, do I think that if BUF were insane enough to trade Eichel to the Rangers would they want Lafrienere over Kakko 100%
