Initial Creation Date: Mar. 23, 2021

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Trades
1.
NJD
  1. Holloway, Dylan [Reserve List]
  2. Russell, Kris
Additional Details:
Holloway’s a great prospect but I feel Zajac and Murray will help Edmonton come post season. Zajac can take defensive minutes off the shoulders of the top two lines and plays very well with young players. Murray can slide in with Larsson as hopefully a dependable defensive tandem
EDM
  1. Murray, Ryan ($2,000,000 retained)
  2. Zajac, Travis ($2,500,000 retained)
2.
NJD
  1. Barron, Justin [Reserve List]
  2. Ranta, Sampo [Reserve List]
  3. 2021 3rd round pick (COL)
Additional Details:
This seems like a lot for Wood but when u break it down Ranta is a junior at a point per game in college which doesn’t necessarily project nhl middle sixer and Barron was a late first with upside. Colorado has plenty young talented defenseman in their system so I don’t think this is outlandish
COL
  1. Wood, Miles ($750 retained)
3.
NJD
  1. Wahlstrom, Oliver
  2. 2021 2nd round pick (COL)
Additional Details:
Isles know that aves pick is going to be late second so cashing that in along with a hot wahlstrom gives them a chance to get a guy that plays big and hard minutes. Would u rather have palms on the ice in game seven in the 3rd period or Wahlstrom
NYI
  1. Palmieri, Kyle ($2,000,000 retained)
4.
NJD
  1. Spence, Jordan
Additional Details:
LA gets some help on the back end and it’s not a rental. Butcher hit 40 points his rookie campaign and maybe the change in scenery can help. Spence has produced very well in juniors but is a few years away from helping the kings active roster. Also this shows the fans they are trying to push saint Louis alittle for that fourth spot out west
5.
NJD
  1. Beagle, Jay
  2. Gaudette, Adam
  3. Jurmo, Joni [Reserve List]
Additional Details:
I’ve seen some Vancouver fans had him in hypothetical trades. He could be good if he’s in the right situation
VAN
  1. Johnsson, Andreas
  2. 2022 6th round pick (NJD)
6.
NJD
  1. Lundmark, Simon [Reserve List]
Additional Details:
Jets need a little help on the back end. Sami might not be the best option on the market but he comes at a tag of 1.5 million on the book and Carrick can also help reinforce the 7th or 8th D
WPG
  1. Carrick, Connor
  2. Vatanen, Sami ($1,000,000 retained)

Likely Cole Caulfield is driving production on their line but Holloway at 1.5 points per game as a 19 year old in college and a Hobey Baker finalist...

After going 14th in an excellent draft class

Is more suited to being a key piece in a potential package for Jack Hughes than helping bring in some solid support players for a playoff run

EDIT:

shoulda put that trade last lol now everyone's just going to come down and rip on it even tho there's alot of detailed thought into this AGM

These trades are absolutely insane. Please look up Miles Wood’s underlying numbers, nothing more than a 4th liner. Not even near Blake Coleman in value. And that Islanders trade..... have you not bothered to watch a single game this year? Or just completely ignored what’s going on? He’s 20 years old and having much better numbers already than Palmieri, wtf man. And that Edmonton/L.A. Kings trades are simply horrendous too. You can’t be this biased man.

I would say that Holloway is almost untouchable right now. I wouldn't trade my top forward prospect for Zajac and Murray. And I don't even think Murray is an upgrade on Russell.

I can't see the Islanders moving on from Wahlstrom for 1 playoff run with Palmieri. Wahlstrom has made himself an NHL regular for them so the deal would probably have to pivot into Bolduc and a second for retained salary on Palmieri.

Holloway and Caufield don't play on the same line.

1st line
Caufield: 1.63 P/GP
Weisbach: 1.33
Pelton-Byce: 1.26

2nd line
Holloway: 1.55 P/GP
Ahcan: 0.84
Caufield: 0.57

Holloway is doing more with less and he's a center with NHL size and strength. He's also a 2020 draftee vs 2019 for Cole Caufield. They do play together on the first PP unit though.

That seems like a fair take.

Trades sound good to me as Devils fan, but don't think these returns are realistic.

COL and NJ have been scouting each other but bro you are high as F if you think you are gettting Ranta OR Barron STRAIGHT UP for Woods. A 3rd and a prospect like Beaucage is more like it. Seriously that trade is so awful I would delete it.

Wow, I've seen some bad trade offers here (and made some bad ones myself too lol), but this Avs trade is just ridiculous. Wood is a 4th liner on NJ's roster, in no way does he warrant a prospect like Barron let alone both Barron AND Ranta AND a pick.

As a Devil's fan, I am very much on board with the Wahlstrom trade.

However, these trades are very one-sided, as many people have stated above.

But damn, that trade made me hard.

Yeah but no, the Avs would probably like Wood but no way he nets you that haul.

I personally don’t think wood for Barron would be that obscene. Yes I may have over valued trades but I also think people latch on to their prospects here more than real GMs that want to win do. I could see Barron or Timmins going in a wood deal. I know his numbers are good this year compared to those in the past but it’s heavy game that also stands out. Also look at his line mates and his numbers compared to theirs. Shows he’s doing something right

Well we did get a second for Greene and we know Lou. I don’t think palms for one of wahlstrom bellows or Wilde is crazy to think
