The deal probably starts at Vaakanainen and DeBrusk, Ondrej Kase has been hurt a lot so his value wont even be that high however I think it would still help ARI when hes back, 2 late 1sts shouldnt be a huge deal obv there is value to them and a 3rd is just to help them regain some of there lost assets

I know it may seem steep but essentialy

Boston improves there scoring major time with a guy on a cheap contract and makes a roster spot for a younger guy

Arizona gets some help the despretly need and a few assets to help with there whole combine issues

Even without the 3rd, no way they give up 5 good assets for a 2nd line player especially right now considering where the franchise is and will be in the upcoming years.
"Boston improves there scoring major time" Maybe

It's his second NHL season as regular and as I said, you don't give up 5 important assets for a 2nd liner.

Elliotte Friedman said on 31 Thoughts that for Garland the Coyotes arent as interested in late round draft picks. So for Boston to get him they would probably have to give up something similar to this. Plus this gets Kase out of Boston.

For a package like that I rather see what it takes to get Forsberg

I cannot stand this mindset of "let's just find players from MA and bring them home". Garland is fine but definitely not worth half that haul. DeBrusk and a 3rd and a B rate prospect at most.

I'm still not convinced Arizona would move Garland, it just doesn't make sense to me

Kase has been a total waste in Boston. Not a bruins fan but I would try to upgrade on Kase. He's played 19 total games with 0 goals and 5 points. He is an RFA after the season, do you want the Bruins to resign him or try and recoup some assets for him?

Confirms you haven't watched him. He's played well in those games and has done literally everything but score. He is adjusting to a new team with new linemates and new system. Pause, ends of playoffs and injury, three things he can't control stopped his seasons, it's hard to get going when you can only play 5-10 games in a row. If you can improve the team, you always do it but personally, I'm keeping Kase.

Thats totally fair but its hard to watch someone that cant stay in the lineup. I just think if the Bruins are trying to had scoring and they can target someone like Garland who is cheaper this year and doesnt have the health issues Kase does. Maybe the trade above is an over payment or whatever but it really doesn't matter if Kase isnt on the ice. Believe or not I liked when they picked up Kase last season I thought he would be good but the only thing was his health. I think that if he stays healthy he would do well. But over the course of his career hes never played a full season. Hes never played more than 70 games in a year and the last 2 his games played have been going down. The Bruins only have so many more kicks at with Bergeron, Krecji and Marchand who are all in their 30s.

Garland could also get injured, you can't predict that but that's not the issue. They'll probably have to overpay for a guy who is only in his second full NHL season and is a fringe 2nd liner. He could struggle just like the other forwards currently in the Bruins' middle-six. Then, you've given up valuable assets and you can't use them for an actual game breaker. Risk is part of the business but if you can get a better player, target that guy over Garland.

Yea any player could come to Boston get hurt and/or struggle thats the chance you take in any trade. With the assets the Bruins have and are willing to part with (Obviously the big guns arent moving) who would you go after? Just wondering

First, I'm trading for a top4 D. Then (if we can), a top6 forward. Not many options so Palmieri I guess.

Everyone is looking for top4 D. Id think I'd go Palmieri over Garland the only plus for Garland is that his AAV is under a million. So if the Bruins land that Dman, they may be able to add a little more scoring with Garland if Coyotes get desperate for picks.
