Anaheim accepts.

Detroit would as well if the 3rd round pick was in 2021 or 2022.

No they don’t. No top prospect is coming back to Anaheim and we’re losing both Rakell and Manson.

Is that Detroit trade part of a bet to see if the leafs can still compete after adding two of the worst players from the leagues worst team? A 7th would be an overpayment for that return.

I look at this trade as Anaheim dumping salary and getting a pool of prospects / picks.

Manson at this point is a cap dump who is going to regress.

Trading Manson would open up a roster spot for someone like Jamie Drysdale.

Rakell for a 1st, two seconds and Hirvonen plus whatever else is here is something that should be considered by the Ducks IMO.

Then youre looking at it wrong. Neither Manson or Rakell are "dumps" thats a horrible take, Manson is still a serviceable 2nd pair guy and Rakell is a steal at his AAV

They dont need to move Manson to open a spot for Drysdale they just dont play Hakanpaa if they want to play Drysdale.

1 mediocre at best prospect, 2 non-factor prospects, a late first and some late seconds do literally nothing for the Ducks who need quality over quantity

I didn't say Rakell is a dump.

I said in this trade, Anaheim is dumping salary.

Salary they dont need to dump, and if they arent dumps why are they "dumping"

They are dumping salary because ownership needs to save money during this tough economic climate we're in.

It's been done before.

Of course, there are better ways to dump salary but Manson just came back from injury and probably won't be playing at a 100%.

His underlying numbers don't look very encouraging for someone making over 4 million per IMO.

This is downright disrespectful. The Buffalo Sabers have worked really hard to be the worst team in the league and for you to not recognize that is unfair and unjust. Please give them respect! Losing 14 games in a row and you can't even give them the common courtesy of identifying them in an internet chat room discussion post tolling attempt? Come on man! Who hurt you?

Also, go look at a picture of Jon Merril. He is the god damn best-looking salt of the earth, makin lots of babies, fix your car on the side of the road and fill up your tank with gas, sun set watching with your daughter and you feel good that she is protected by a good man, shirt of his back so you don't get a sunburn, saves kittens, hockey player! Also serioulsy Luke Glendening and Jon Merrill are the worst Red Wings?
