Apparently Arizona doesn’t want to pay Garland and they need to get more draft picks and I think the Bruins would be a great fit for him.

Per Friedman, Coyotes don't want late picks so it's not enough.

late picks > no picks though. i dont see too many rebuilding teams trading their top picks for this guy.

No rebuilding team is trading for him so these picks are the best it’s going to be

I've been watching a lot of the West and I can honestly say Garland has been one of the best players in the whole division. If the Yotes are silly enough to shop him I would think they can do better. Super cheap, team-controlled and in his prime. Tbh I'm not sure the Bruins would have the right pieces available for it. Something like a top-15 pick, blue chip prospect, roster player. If you could get him for this package I'd say 100% do it.

I guess they want prospects as well.

I know he’s great I try and watch a lot of Arizona since I like the team but they have a Melnyk level owner and he could force the GMs hand to get draft picks for players he doesn’t feel like paying

I didn’t see anything about prospects but I’d be willing to give up one prospect that they want no matter who it is

Boston is not a guarantee for the playoffs as of now. So might not be a late pick. I think it’s a good fit.

who wrote it? because Friedman said a few days ago that Arizona isn't looking to move him unless they get elite prospects in return. Theyre not interested in late 1st rd picks as the main piece.

only cheap through this year though. needs a new contract at the end of the year. and the way hes played last 2 years he should be in for a hefty raise.

If the owner forces the hand of the GM he will have to move him for a package like this no rebuilding team will be moving a first and Boston was the example given for a team interested

i would pencil them into the playoffs. they have 7 games remaining vs buffalo. while the rest of the east has already played at minimum 4 games.

Garland is a top line winger. Non rebuilding teams would give up elite prospects and top 6 roster players for a guy like garland.

For example , Washington can trade Connor mcmichael + picks for garland. That's a lot better than this package.

Washington doesn’t have the cap space to re-sign Garland after this season the Bruins do

Contrary to most of the responses I’m pretty sure that is way too much for Garland. Not that he won’t be worth it, but it’s more than the ask.

The quoted ask is a manageable prospect and a pick. They don’t want back to later ROUND picks. (Like 3 and 4 rounds). Basically they are asking for a 1st or an early 2 and 3 (not what the Bruins are expected to have if they play it right)

People have read it wrong.

The Bruins 1st and a prospect will meet their ask. Maybe a Kase or Bjork would work for the “manageable prospect”.

The limiting factor for most other teams is the pay raise he’s going to get. Look for teams that can support a 3x$4.5M bridge deal. This is right in the Bruins alley.

I’m not sure how it works but did AZ want to offload OEL as well? I don’t want OEL but the package your offering is more in line with a salary retention of OEL and adding Grze to the package IMHO.
