After TDL and Expansion Draft

Description
This is how I view the Jets roster after the 2021 TDL and Expansion Draft.

Ekholm trade could have a bit more added, but imagine how great of a partner Ekholm would be for Heinola, they’d be a perfect pair together. I left some cap space in case the Jets wanted to add a few players at the TDL. Not sure if VAN would give up a 2nd, but Jets should look at taking on a bad contract.

I like it. I made a post the other day about taking on LE for Vancouver’s 2nd at the draft. Unless we sign Dougie I don’t see any big signings for us this off season. May as well utilize that space

I should have given you credit because that’s where I got the idea for taking on LE. Like you said, only big signing would be Hamilton, and it’s unlikely we get him so might as well utilize the cap space. I didn’t make any huge changes as it’s not like Chevy to anyways. I think we’ll likely see the ekholm deal in a week or two.

Vancouver is screwed for cap space...I would get a 1st...replace the Ekholm 1st so we still have one

We would need to beat what Seattle is asking for. They would probably demand a 1st. Mine was a 2nd and a 4th.

If we could get a 1st I’d be very happy. Maybe Jets offer a 3rd for LE and a 1st? Might beat Seattle’s offer.

does Vancouver really want to send their 1st to a division rival? I get your point but I dont think that matters

Doubt they want to help seattle tbh. Honestly forgot that they’ll be division rivals!! Too busy being caught up in the North division.

I don't think WPG being a playoff team should take on bad contracts. Rather use cap space for players that could make us better.

I left enough space to acquire a few pickups come TDL. I’m not sure really what else I could’ve done to improve the team. Maybe spend a bit more for a better 4th line? Maybe upgrade stastny for a better winger? Any suggestions?

I like to signings minus Gagner and Sbisa. WPG just can't attract the big UFA's so I don't know who would sign here. But we would need someone who can play with Scheifele and Wheeler so would Danault fit? Slide Scheifele to wing and have Danault play center. 3 years at $6 mil? As much as I like Stastny, as a Jets fan I would like to have Danault.

So trade for Ekholm and Hamonic at TDL

Sign who you have minus Gagner and Sbisa plus Danault and Hamonic after expansion. If Perreault will take $1.5 mil then sign him for 2 years

Somehow have Seattle pick DeMelo at the expansion draft.

I agree with you, Danault would be a great add, and hamonic would be solid too. I just doubt Jets management will want to accept their mistake in signing demelo, by sending him and a pick to seattle. They’re very stubborn in admitting when they made a bad move.

Danault would be a great addition if he would take that deal. 0 chance we get any bit FA to sign here so the cap can be allocated to Danault and hamonic.

      yea maybe
I think its gonna come down to who offers the best deal to canucks
I think it'll come down to the rangers, ducks, jets, Seattle or the devils

Rangers won’t have the space to take him on. Unlikely Canucks will want to help the ducks or the kraken. I think it’ll be the devils who pick him up IMO.
