THOUGHTS PLEASE ? Sabres fans is the Eichel trade about right ? If Sabres are asking for 4 1st rounders i think CAT AND STROME ARE WORTH MORE THEN 2 1ST ROUNDERS . This would be Hawks lineup after trades if everyone healthy . Leaves cap space for additions fpr next season . Edmonton gets to dump 8.5 million in cap space for this year , and upgrade their defence and they get 4.5 miilion in cap space for next season by dumping KOSKINEN

Cant see EDM giving up Holloway to get rid of a contract. The 1st maybe, but Holloway, probably not

if you look in my comments on the trade its supposed to be koskinen aswell as russell . i do not know how it was deleted but i will correct it

also the only way edmonton gets any cap space this year to add for the playoffs is cap space in cap space out

Even still it’s an awful trade. Not even close. Russel doesn’t have negative value. Replace Holloway for Neal and it’s a deal.

Why are the oilers so worried about koskinens contract. There are better goalie options but we have enough money to resign nuge. The oilers aren’t paying more than third to dump koskinen

Kane and Toews contracts come off the cap in two seasons . Dach and Eichel would be the new YOUNG dynamic duo for the next decade .

Holloway was taken in the first round last year, so him plus a first round pick equals two first round picks. Saying Russell is a 6/7 Dman just tells me you don’t have a clue what he does. He is currently spotting in at 2LD and is doing it well. Giving him greater responsibility over the younger D helped stabilize the defence and helped get Edmonton out of the funk they were in early in the season. A 6/7 dman is not capable of doing that. While zadorov would certainly be an upgrade over Russell, the difference is no where near 2 firsts.

According to your logic, four firsts gets you Jack Eichel, and two firsts gets you Subban, Zadorov, and Carpenter. So just package up those three players with two first rounders and see if you can get Buffalo fans to agree to give you Eichel. You can’t.

This whole player evaluation is skewed so that your team wins the trade. It’s just not reasonable for Edmonton to be handing you assets like that.
