What would it take to get

Created by: Jah1722
Team: 2021-22 Anaheim Ducks
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 24, 2021

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
What would it take to get these guys? MIN is looking like it will might be forced to go 4-4-1 protection leaving Greenway exposed unless they get a NMC waived. Praise, Zucc, Fiala, JEE, Suter, Spurgeon, Brodin, Dumba, and Kahkonen. Based on that it’s have to be prospects and picks I imagine.

Idk if Buch will be available but he’s due a raise and I’d love to add him to the ducks.

For Greenway it would have to be someone who isn't exposed in expansion if the purpose is to get an asset for him instead of losing him in expansion.

That’s why I said a futures package. Pick 32-35 and maybe something else good enough?

I don’t think they’d want to move him but I also don’t know how their cap is. Maybe Reinhart would be more available at a similar price as Buch.

Reinhart would likely cost more

Yeah, Reinhart is likely 1st+2nd+good prospect (Though I'm sure I'll have the "IT'S GOTTA BE ZEGRASSSSSS!" coming soon tears of joy)

Buch at a 1st+Terry would be a bit rich for my blood with where we stand rebuild-wise (Christ, I think that's the first time I've said rebuild...it would have been a pretty simple re-tool if a certain coach didn't f*ck it up). If I was the Ducks, I'd much rather get involved on Dougie this offseason, and if *when* that didn't work out, I'd probably target an offensive winger + 2nd tier RD, assuming Shatty might end up in Seattle.

Yeah no. It was also reported wild gm is thinking of doing 7& 3 or 4 & 4 & get Parise to waive protecting greenway

So heck no. If greenway continues to play like he has, he's not going anywhere

It’s not a matter of pure value, but Buch adds more value to our team than trading him. He’s turned into almost a point per player (and can’t be said as a “panarin beneficiary” like they would say for strome) and plays in every situation for us

For reference, the Rangers cap situation is wide open next year (after signing everyone else but Buch they should have ~10mil left) so I don’t think he’d be a cap casualty. The only way I can see them moving him is if at least 2 of Kakko, Laf and Kravtsov make huge jumps the rest of the season and lock down the remaining top 6 wing spots, but even then that’s a bit of a stretch

I could be way off, but would the Ducks consider trading Perreault + for Greenway? IMO he's the most intriguing Ducks prospect who wouldn't need to be protected that they'd maybe trade.
From the Wild perspective, they wouldn't be breaking up the team for this years playoffs and still getting assets back for Greenway instead of losing him to Seattle if they protect 8-1.

Considering the value to their team, I don’t think either player is really worth it to trade for. We should be selling not buying.

I doubt it. My thought was Greenway for pick 32-35 would be great value for a player they’d probably lose to the expansion draft.

He might get a late first. His analytics are very very good but his point production is of a 2nd liner. He’s probably not available if NYR cap is better next season which I wasn’t sure of. He’s just the type of guy I’d like ANA to add if the price is right.

He has 29 points in 30 games, 50 in his last 51
