__________________________________________________

**** I would LOVE this Roster, the Deep Forward Group, the versatile D-Core, & the depth of this entire team.
- This would give us a Legit Chance at Truly being a Contender again.

IMO, I filled all of The Pens Needs :

1) A 3rd Line Center & fill in at 2C for 71 & 53 while out ----------------------- Granlund #64
2) A 3rd line RH-Winger that can play Center too -------------------------------- Kunin #11
3) A more Physical & Net Front mover type D-man ----------------------------- McNabb #3
4) Added Top Prospect & early 2nd Rdr & 4th Rdr in 21' Draft -------------- Kupari #89
5) Players w/ push back & edge -------------------------------------------------------- Carrier #28 / McDermid #56
6) Younger Goalie Depth / Better #3 ------------------------------------------------- Montembeault #33

Trades
1.
PIT
  1. Hinostroza, Vinnie
  2. Montembeault, Samuel
Additional Details:
This Pens Team & the Injuries to :
1st all the D-men, now all of our Forwards, I am getting a better #3 bc the Goalie position is next.
2.
PIT
  1. Granlund, Mikael ($750,000 retained)
  2. Kunin, Luke
Additional Details:
- Pens need to add a Forward that can play Center for now w/ 71 & 53 out for now but could also move to Wing if needed to when they come back & wanted to sign Granlund all off-season.
- Was big on Kunin in his Draft year but hasn't been able to stick yet in NHL but is only 23 & still think he could be a future 3C or a solid bottom 6 Forward for now.
NSH
  1. Gruden, Jonathan
  2. Jankowski, Mark
  3. Lindgren, Jesper
  4. 2021 5th round pick (PIT)
  5. 2022 2nd round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
- I look at this trade like the Brassard to FLO for Bjugstad & McCann deal but instead added 2- {B} type prospects & a former 1st Rdr in Jankowski w/ the picks, instead of Brassy + picks.
3.
PIT
  1. Kupari, Rasmus
  2. MacDermid, Kurtis
  3. 2021 2nd round pick (LAK)
  4. 2021 4th round pick (LAK)
Additional Details:
- Kupari isn't rated highly as a prospect but always really liked him since Drafted w/ his size, speed, & skill. Altho his inconsistent play & w/ his injuries, he is labeled as a Boom or Bust.
- MacDermid is a perfect #7-#8 LHD that could be the 1 physical Penguin that can & actually will stick up for teammates.
LAK
  1. Lafferty, Sam
  2. Pettersson, Marcus
Additional Details:
- Pettersson hasn't been as good as last yr since back from a small injury this yr but is still a 24yr old Top 4 to Top Pairing LHD-man w/ a 12ft Reach (lol) on a long term very affordable contract.
- Lafferty is a fast AF #12 - #13 Forward.
4.
PIT
  1. Carrier, William
  2. McNabb, Brayden
Additional Details:
- My Ulf Samuelson Re-Make Deal (30 yrs later), where the Pens acquire a heavy Hitting blue liner in McNabb & also give Marino that stable stay at home D-man.
- Carrier is a Tanev like player who plays 1,000 mph too but is a thicker player that can hit (hard).
VGK
  1. Aston-Reese, Zach
  2. Gaudreau, Frédérick
  3. Riikola, Juuso
Additional Details:
- Purely a Cap savings move for [VGK] to save $1.75m on Cap to add a player at TDL. ZAR & Riikolla are the better players (analytically) & could see Riikola actually playing there.
- Gaudreau to Taxi Squad
5.
PIT
  1. Simon, Dominik
Additional Details:
{TDL Trade}
With our Injuries we need Depth
6.
PIT
  1. Bartkowski, Matt

If Pittsburgh wanted him wasn't Simone on waivers earlier this year?

He was. They would have had him for free

Pettersson is struggling playing sheltered minutes on the bottom pairing. Kings are looking for a top-line lefty to pair with Doughty for 22+ min a night. Kings are willing to give up the assets and have the cap space to get a top player, Pettersson isn't it, however. Also Kupari is too close to NHL ready to move him now.

Pettersson was really crazy good last yr but since coming back from injury earlier, he has been a lil off but he is still really good.

He has been a top-4 defender but not really a 20+ min a night guy, he is trending the wrong way with a cap hit that was intended for a rising cap. I think the Kings can find a better fit in the free agency/via trade and encounter less risk.

Its more of a sophmore slump with MP, which about 75% of NHL players go thru after the 1st year of good play.
- Also think he came back from injury to fast bc we had like 5 D-men hurt when he came back earlier.... I mean even Marino is struggling rite now after he had a great year last yr & he is paired with MP... so there could be something to it too.
But seriously if u asked me last yr, I would never trade MP bc of how good he is Defensively with his 12ft reach, I would bet that he will be a Top pair LHD in like 1-2yrs.
The only reason we can is bc he is our only asset & we have the kid POJ who looked like a top pairing LHD, & like 4 D-men that can all play on the Left side in the NHL.

I understand that, but he hasn't played better than second-line minutes, that's a heck of a long-term gamble for a guy who is likely better suited for a bottom-4 role. The belief is the Kings have a bottom-4 player in Bjornfot and Anderson, they just need a guy who can keep up with Drew who plays up to 26 minutes a night.
