Not really considering it is already rumored that the Coyotes are shopping Garland! BTW NOT every player in the league requires Montreal to give up Caufield LOL!

I feel like ARZ should only try and get multiple picks for their players.... Theyve lost a lot recently.

They're not shopping him. They're listening to offers.

AZ has indeed lost a lot of picks/prospects because Chayka was absolutely horrendous as a GM....and he's a cheater. They will likely be looking to shed salary and you're right, they will want to get picks/prospects back. That doesn't mean they're trying to help MTL win games. I've told Hawks fans...my favorite team...expect to pay the 1st and Boqvist if you want Garland. That combo (in value) is more than Caufield. Quite a bit more in fact. AZ will trade their best player that's an RFA for a kings ransom, to the highest bidder...as they should.

Why would the habs give caufield plus for a player that is 5 years older? I understand Garland is having a solid season but his 25 and is just starting to break out i think if that is what the coyotes expect as a return then garland wont be moving.

Not really just take a look at some of the packages on the Arizona threads involving Garland.

Because this is something official??? (2) guys from Canada that don't likely stay up to watch the team and (1) from AZ saying he wants to keep Garland...and that the cost would be an A+ prospect, an NHL Dman, and a 1st.

Makes little sense to move edmunson to bring in Ekholm, Yes Ekholm is an update but edmonson has been solid all year and we need to be adding to our depth not making small upgrades. Ouellet isnt filling in for anybody he shouldnt see the ice again this year.

if think if they move garland you'd probably be looking at a top 6 forward prospect/top 4 d prospect +1st round pick to get it started

Agreed about Edmundson (I would rather include another 2.5+ depth contract but there is only Armia and Byron that fit that bill and no one will want Byron and Armia is more valuable than Edmundson) but we need cap space to add Ekholm and Ciarot is is out for 6-8 weeks meaning our choices are currently Ouellet, Mete or another unproven player from Laval.

If I make a thread trading Suzuki to the Flames for Jakob Pelletier, Derek Ryan and a 2nd, does that mean that's what his value is?

The 1st trade is terrible and you multiple people in the comments saying so. The 2nd one is a much better package than what you offered so it does nothing to prove your point. And the 3rd one doesn't even have a trade but they say they want an A prospect which you don't have, A defensemen with term which you kinda have with Mete but not really, and a 1st or 2nd which is really the only thing you have.

There is a 1st and a top 4 D prospect (Mete). A lot of people forget that Mete is only 22 and has yet to finish developing, his game will only get stronger. Also if paired with the right player he is very effective but for the some reason the Montreal coaches get on him about his defensive game instead of letting him concentrate on transition.

I guess you could swap Mete with Guhle.

i would put Armia there over Edmondson. Armia has flashes where he is amazing but in the longer shoring up the d is more important that a third line winger especially with the production we are getting from Perry and with Tatar looking like he is finding his form again.
Byron would be the ideal person to move but i do agree that nashville wont want that, byron can only get dumped on a team that doesnt expect to be competing for a few years and will cost multiple picks

i think theyd be looking more for something like ghule/norlinder + 1st. Mete is fine but im not really sure hes more than a third-pairing guy on a good team, doesn't really do much other than transition the puck at a high level. Blake coleman is normally my go-to comparison for these trades and if he can get Nolan Foote and a 1st I think Garland could get that equivalent value at least

I was looking more at the future without getting worse now. Garland would be a replacement for Tatar at a cheaper cap hit.

fair i think we may have tatar's replacement already in the organization, everything seems to be pointing to caufield being ready to go to start next season and Ylonen having a solid year in Laval may also get a shot too.
