Team: 2020-21 Toronto Maple Leafs
Team Explanation
The Leafs today if they had never signed John Tavares in 2018. The team/trade descriptions represent a somewhat abridged version; if the Leafs had never signed Tavares, they would also be without prospects Axel Rindell (Marleau trade), Joe Miller (Kadri trade), and Filip Hållander (Kapanen trade), and would've retained prospects Jean-Luc Foudy (Kadri trade), Alexander Pashin (Marleau trade), and Jesper Lindgren (Kapanen trade).

yeah it pretty much turns into Tavares/Spezza/Kerfoot/Amirov vs. Kadri/Kapanen/Bozak/Jarvis, which is kind of a wash imo

Cap flexibility is really the only thing that this team has on the current one.

Not really. At the end of the day, it's Kadri for Tavares (with the ways Spezza's been playing, he's way better than Bozak, and the amount he's better more than make up for Kerfoot>Kappy, and neither Jarvis nor Amirov play in the nhl, so that is currently a wash, even if Jarvis looks better so far). That's a trade you do easily.
