Trades
1.
PHI
  1. Gaudreau, Johnny
Additional Details:
The truth is there is no way Philly would send a young guy with as much term as Konecny for 1 potential extra year of Gaudreau, and with Gaudreau having a 5 team trade list after this season they're going to have a hard time getting a lot of competitve offers. This trade gives Calgary an at least serviceable replacement with an extra year of term, plus a 1st and 2 good prospects

      Additional Details:
Even though he is having a decent bounceback year, at this point it appears management is ready to move on. Vancouver gets some blue line help and sheds a bad contract

You won't get a 1st for Laughton as a rental. I wouldn't even give a prospect with a lower pick.

I think he might. He's top 25 in the NHL over the last 2 seasons at even strength scoring and would be borderline free against the cap. Not to mention it'll be a late 1st in a questionable draft year

I’m glad someone finally acknowledge the fact that Seattle is always used as the Ducks. And yes it is annoying

As Hades said it’s annoying but it’d also help if people did the SEA trades first or last lol when theyre in the middle I always look.

Maybe if flames were blowing it up, but that isnt the direction Brad/management will be going in. This move would tank us next season and that's not the direction they will want to go in. They will want a hockey trade for a similarly impactful player (forsberg) or to just keep Gaudreau for the next year and move other core pieces.

To everyone saying that Laughton won't get a 1st, no one thought Goodrow would get a 1st either. Also Laughton can play all three positions and move up and down the line up. Personally if he is available he would be perfect for the leafs

Flames aren't trading for JVR's bloated contract no matter how good of a season hes having currently.

The Flames won’t get as much for Johnny as most fans think
