Edited Mar. 26, 2021 at 3:59 p.m.. Reason: I’m an idiot.
Since now is around the point in the season of when the All-Star Game would normally happen, I’m going to put together what I would expect the teams would’ve been if there was an All-Star game. (I’m doing this based on merit though, not the name recognition the NHL used last year)

Also it was really tough to not just make the West Division team entirely out of Golden Knights and Avalanche players.

1. EDM - Connor McDavid
2. EDM - Leon Draisaitl
3. TOR - Mitch Marner
4. TOR - Auston Matthews

6. WPG - Nikolaj Ehlers
7. CGY - Elias Lindholm
D
1. MTL - Jeff Petry
2. OTT - Thomas Chabot
G
1. EDM - Mike Smith
2. VAN - Thatcher Demko

HM: Kyle Connor, Tyson Barrie, Connor Hellebuyck

3. BOS - Brad Marchand
4. PIT - Sidney Crosby
5. PHI - Sean Couturier
6. BUF - Sam Reinhart
D
1. WSH - John Carlson
2. NYR - Adam Fox
3. NJD - Ty Smith
G
1. NYR - Igor Shesterkin
2. NYI - Semyon Varlamov

HM: Nicklas Backstrom, Charlie McAvoy, Casey DeSmith

Central Division
F
1. CHI - Patrick Kane
2. FLA - Aleksander Barkov
3. FLA - Jonathan Huberdeau
4. CHI - Alex DeBrincat
5. DAL - Joe Pavelski
6. CBJ - Oliver Bjorkstrand
D
1. TBL - Victor Hedman
2. NSH - Roman Josi
3. CAR - Dougie Hamilton
G
1. TBL - Andrei Vasilevskiy
2. DET - Jonathan Bernier

HM: Steven Stamkos, Aaron Ekblad, Alex Nedeljkovic

West Division
F
1. VGK - Mark Stone
2. COL - Nathan MacKinnon
3. LAK - Anze Kopitar
4. STL - David Perron
5. SJS - Evander Kane
6. ANA - Max Comtois
D
1. COL - Samuel Girard
2. VGK - Shea Theodore
3. ARI - Jakob Chychrun
G

He hasn’t been as good as any of the other forwards I’ve put on the team for the North division, and he’s also injured right now.

Lindholm needs to stay there because I need a player from Calgary. Other than that, the worst forward is Ehlers, who only has 3 fewer goals than Toffoli, and twice as many assists. Tyler’s having a great season, but he’s not a top 6 forward in Canada right now.

Good list. would be a lot easier if it was 4 on 4, though, too many good forwards

Why is Mike Smith on here? If your going to put someone like that on this, then put Campbell, or someone else. Even Demko doesn't really need to be on here.

Demko has been the Canucks best player and goaltending hasn't been a strong suit for the North.

You didn't hear? He's the odds on favourite for the Vezina.

Jack Campbell has played 4 games. Mike Smith has the highest save percentage in the division out of goalies other than Campbell (who is an extremely small sample size). And Thatcher Demko started off slow, but he’s been as good as any goalie in the NHL for the past while, and the only reason that the Canucks aren’t last in the division right now.

Although I guess you haven’t noticed anything outside of your Leafs’ bubble...

It was partly a joke about Campbell going to the All-Stars, but when he's been healthy he's been maybe even the best goalie in North Division, definitely better than Smith.

We can have that conversation when he’s played more games. You can’t argue a guy should be on the All-Star team after playing only 4 games. Otherwise I’d have put Kasimir Kaskisuo and his perfect save percentage here.

Holy crap I’m stupid. How did I miss that?

I’ll go fix that now.
