Here’s my issue with Leafs ACGM’s lately...
1. They’re all the same. Every. Single. One.
2. Engvall keeps being trading. He is playing well and is developing into a 3C. A 3C for that cheap is amazing, especially for a cap strapped Toronto team.
3. Dubas said he wants to upgrade the top 6. So why does every Leafs ACGM trade for bottom 6 players.

To clarify, this isn’t an attack in your post, just putting my opinion out there.

Wings are going to pass, we aren't retaining on LGD and it will take a 3rd to get him not retained. So this is a complete no go from wings side. But we would be happy to do your 3rd without retention for him.

My God would yinz have a scary Top 5 w/ Granlund, I've wanted Pens to get him for like 3yrs now....
Very underrated highly skilled Forward, that has actually looked even better at Center.

If there's no retention, then the leafs will probably look for a third party to take half his salary. My guess would be Chicago seeing they're open to taking on bad contracts and cap space

Im not sold on him yet, but I got him there because he's been heavily rumoured to land in TOR. but I think NASH wants more than what I got put up top

I think it would even cost that much, 900k for like a 5th or 6th to chi and a 3rd to wings. I think it makes sense and leafs get a guy they can use

Dubas wants someone who can play middle 6, with potential to play top 6 which is Granlund. But, I think if Toronto wants to go "all in" this year, they'll need to look deeper into seeing if players like Engvall would help them. Sure, he's doing good.. right now.. but teams who are making a run are going to want pieces that they know will help them improve. There's a time where teams are gonna have to look at a certain player and decide whether or not he fits in their future. For me, I see players like Engvall and Dermott being those guys, because we have already seen what they can do, but would it be enough to take TOR over the top? Probably not. Some players may fit elsewhere where they will get more opportunities, which is what I see in Dermott and Engvall

yes, that seems fair in my opinion. I can't see Chicago just taking on cap space without some sort of reimbursement
