At first glance I liked the trade but looking at Vesalainen numbers they haven’t been very impressive to say the least (maybe a Jet fan can share his thoughts on where this player is at). Maybe Winnipeg can improve the pick.

Also the ducks should look into eating half the salary to improve the return. The ducks have a lot of cap space next year and no one needs a big raise that needs resigning.

I agree though, Ducks should definitely explore this trade.

I think the other team to look at is TB. They could use a RD. The question is, what would they be willing to give.

I agree Tampa could be a good partner. They’ve always been good partners with Anaheim trading wise

I’d rather just keep Manson, if his price is truly that low it really can only go up

Manson may have Winnipeg on his 12 team no trade list. While Stastny waived his no-trade a few years back, he was a pending UFA so he was only committing for a few months. Manson has a year left so that might take more convincing if Winnipeg is on that list.
