Can’t picture that happening. It’s the antithesis of how Guerin is shaping the wild.

Kopitar is great and would probably be really good for the wild right now, but just can’t see that being good in the end.

Wild aren't taking on Anze's contract. Are you kidding me? No from Minnesota

As much as I want MIN to succeed. Kopitar won’t be traded.

I like dumba though. MIN should try for Barkov when the time comes.

Kopitar deal ends same year as parise and Suter contracts. Also ends same time as Rossi ELC. I’d envision this being a great deal for the wild, as in the off-season we do lose 4m of cap space, but 18m should be enough to sign KK+EK long term, and a 3 year bridge for Fiala. Things get tricky the next year with greenway though. BG would be able to line up Fiala and Rossi’s contracts to end when the big ones come off the books

my biggest concern would be kopitar turning into a boat anchor like koivu was his last year. but twice as expensive. and having 3 vets making that kind of money so old and not able to keep up will hold back the youngsters.

Thing is Kopitar at his worst will still be better than Koivu last year. And if in the last 1.5 years of his deal he’s a 3rd liner so be it. At that point hopefully Rossi is a 1c and Ek a top end 2c then you’ve got Kopitar as a 3c. I’d say pretty good down the middle if you ask me. Also improves odds immensely for this year and next. To pair with the D corps of Suter, Spurge and Brodin + hopefully Addison.

Yo what's good? I reached out to you a month or so ago about potentially joining the GM Game on CapFriendly. I know last time you said you didn't have enough time, but if you're interested in helping me as an assistant GM just to get your feet wet, I'm looking to add some. There wouldn't be any time commitment or anything that takes a ton of time, but I'd want your input on trades and the upcoming draft.

Most of the communication rolls through Twitter (almost everyone creates a "burner" account for the game purposes). Let me know what you think.

Thanks for the offer! I’m actually going through a divorce right now and I just don’t have my mind invested in stuff like this right now...

Please consider me again in the future though. Thanks!
