I don't see how this benefits Edmonton at all. Stepan and Klefbom are both on LTIR for the remainder of the season, but Stepan is a UFA after that and Klefbom isn't. Once Klefbom likely returns next season, Edmonton does nothing but lose that part of the deal. As for Tierney for Turris, sure Edmonton clearly wins that part of the deal in terms of the better player. But they're not looking for a guy like Tierney, their focus is a right handed 3C that can kill penalties and that's not Tierney.
