Future huh? Klefbom is out just like Stepan. That'S basically trading a healthy scratch for a really good young 3rd center. Waste of time immo

I don't see how this benefits Edmonton at all. Stepan and Klefbom are both on LTIR for the remainder of the season, but Stepan is a UFA after that and Klefbom isn't. Once Klefbom likely returns next season, Edmonton does nothing but lose that part of the deal. As for Tierney for Turris, sure Edmonton clearly wins that part of the deal in terms of the better player. But they're not looking for a guy like Tierney, their focus is a right handed 3C that can kill penalties and that's not Tierney.

I like this deal for both teams. Tierney would fit this team beautifully and give EDM that third line guy who can PK and and play on the second unit PP. Stepan in the deal to balance real money (LTIR purposes). Klefbom fits the Sens for next year and can easily be protected in the expansion draft. Unique and great trade IMO

It’s interesting because the risk is what seems to balance this trade. Ottawa takes a big L in trading Tierney for Turris but if Klefbom comes back and performs then the pendulum swings their way. The flip side to that is if Klefbom doesn’t come back then Ottawa is stuck with nothing to show for Tierney
