I’ve always like Bobby Ryan as a depth add. Agreed on taking out the retention and adding a 4th.

I’m personally not very enthused by the idea of rentals. They backfire more often than not and usually the rentals that you find on Cup winning teams aren’t star players like Hall, they’re usually depth guys that leave the locker room dynamic intact. So based on that, I’d rather pick up Palmieri. I’ve also heard that Palmieri might not be a complete lock to return to the Devils. The Isles will not have the cap space to keep Hall after this season, but there’s at least a chance with Palmieri.

All that said, this team objectively good, even if I disagree with the spirit of rental moves.

I would imagine that would be the case.
Two solid AHL players and 2nd for a recent Hart winner.
I know Hall's stats look bad, but playing for Buffalo does that to players.
