And when Seattle takes him in the expansion draft the Sabres paid Hall 6 mil and got nothing in return...

I really dont get this trade popping up recently. Buffalo would benefit from prospects/picks at this point.

Montour is gone in free agency, mccabe could stay after a good year but not if something like this happens, risto/miller could get traded

Ok, still don’t see why the pens do this. Hexy and Burke have both said they want to trade for the now and future. To try and extend the window. This basically says all or nothing this year and slams it shut. They could get better assets for what they really need
