Sabres would be more interested in picks and forward prospects. They would lose Pettersson in the expansion draft.

I've just seen a few of these deals (from both sabre and penguin fans) so I thought I would put it in there.

Big time disagree. They have exactly one player on the backend who is better than MP and I don’t think they’re looking for picks at all right now. They’ve got basically until the deadline next season before Eichel says “**** this I’m done”. Jack Eichel doesn’t give a **** about a 2nd round pick, and they have nobody other than JE worth more than a 2nd round pick. They’re also not getting any forward prospects worth a damn for an 8m rental player who’s scored once since like January.

Wild aren't trading bonino/ helping Pittsburgh

Wild own Pittsburgh 1st & 3rd road pick this year

Bonino isn't going anywhere especially for crap

They will obviously retain. MP is a good defenseman, but they have to protect a lot of young defenseman this offseason. Getting picks will also help in trade pieces to improve their roster.
