I like this from CGY perspective, nice structure.

The Flames have to find another 1-2C to replace Monahan to pull this deal off. And that should be possible since it’s all but certain that Gaudreau is also getting shipped out before next year. Could look at a 3-way deal that brings back futures for Gaudreau to turn around and trade for a solid 2C.

can't see Foligno going to BUF. I know, connections and all.
But if he leaves CBJ he's going to want to get away from a guy like Torts. You can almost bet on that. And Buf probably needs a Torts like coach at this point.

Pretty interesting trade

hurts the future, but it shelters dahlin with a youngish LHD (who happens to be Eichels 2nd best friend in the NHL) and creates an excellent center spine and gives the lineup actual depth with a few free agent overpays
csick and Depressed_Flames_Fan liked this.

you could sign Nugent Hopkins, you could make another trade, you draft your 1C, who knows.

i think with the cap, its better money than he is going to see, and if the trade happens first, i dont think its an uninteresting place to play.

2nd over all for Monahan and Hanafin? I wouldn't do that if I was Buffalo. Grab Power at 2 and let him and Dahlin ride

May I ask why all of the sudden Hanifin to BUF trades are happening?

Hard to part with Hanifin as hes been one of the only bright spots of this nightmarish season, but I think Flames would accept this.

I don't think it's about money at this point. I just don't see him wanting to put up with that **** anymore.
I can't see BUF using a player friendly coach at this point. The team is just to undisciplined and they don't seem like they care.
They need a guy who can right the ship.
But I just don't see Nick wanting to deal with that at the end of his career. If he leaves CBJ it's because he's tired of Torts and CBJ kept him. It won't be about money.
There is only so much one person can take. After awhile the money isn't worth it.
