No way the leafs give up that much for a struggling Taylor Hall. What leverage do the Sabres have to make a deal like that happen? You'd be lucky for a first rounder.

I fail to see how Hall on an expiring deal and the way he has played is worth more than Ristolainen? Risto is a much better player

I think the idea of what you're suggesting is smart. Trade off options that can get you assets. If a great, no brainer deal for Eichel comes, take it too.
I don't see you getting much for Hall. He's been a bust this year. Not going to get big money in the offseason.
