Fair trade, but Goligoski isn't the defenseman you need. His speed is pretty much non-existent.

Not sure about adding more sub 6”2 d-men. Size is a big factor in the playoffs.

I think either trade can be argued, but I think both cost you the second (instead of Niku).

I don't mind the idea of adding Montour but think Goligoski isn't required, he's not bad but the Jets have plenty of LHD and as @arafay pointed out this would be too many 6'0" or less dmen, size still matters especially on the backend and in the playoffs.

I'm in full agreeance with the idea of going after one or two cheaper to acquire dmen, selling a Samberg, Vesalainen, Perfetti or Heinola for Ekholm is a bad move imo.

Vesalainen I don’t mind moving considering the other options then ets have but I agree with no moving Samberg, perfetti, of heinola

Neither deal works for the Jets. Montour might be okay, but certainly isn't worth a 2nd.

I guess, idk, would just really like to see it work out with him, he's big which the Jets lack in the top 6 and Wheeler is declining, Vesalainen could be his replacement or a 3rd line of Vesa/Gus/Apples could be fun, bring on the drafted and developed kids and churn over some of this line-up please!

If the yotes start heating up again as the TDL nears, are they really in a position to deal away their defensive depth?
