Linus Ullmark

Created by: BruinsFan35
Team: 2020-21 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 27, 2021
Published: Mar. 27, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
How do Buffalo fans see him? He played a pretty solid game today and was getting peppered by the Bruins who, while not even playing a good game, were able to crash the net at will. Just wondering how other hockey fans view this guy, he seems like he'd be more respected if the team around him wasn't dragging him down...

He is their guy. I am sure they try and resign him.

He if an excellent G, his issues is where image is. Last season he had the same save% 5v5 as Hellebuyck.

He's an above average goalie who would be better known if he didn't get hurt every year

Good goalie, but seems to be injury prone. I think he is a good starter, but you need a reliable backup of when he gets hurt. Sabres would be around 500 if he wasn’t hurt for 15 games.

If Buffalo doesn't re-sign him I think he's going to be a very cheap starting goalie for some smart team ala Petr Mrazek or Cam Talbot as the "guy who got shelled on a bad team but is actually pretty good and plays steady behind good defenses" of the offseason. And if you're a smart team, you're picking up that guy instead of spending a gajillion dollars on goaltending like Montreal/Florida (don't pay for saves etc)

If, and it's a huge if, he can stay healthy he's a #1 goalie. Sabres with Ullmark 5-5-2. Without 1-18-2...

Hes the Sabres starter and we've been telling people he's this good for years. Problem is he doesnt stay healthy and our backups suck

I know statistically he isn't amazing (negative GSAx the last couple seasons, including this one), but he made some big saves today and I do think he's hung out to dry most nights, in the respect that Buffalo doesn't score a lot. He's a pretty average starter imo, but every now and then he can steal a game or two and he did look really good today

How so, Sabres are wildcard contenders when hes in net, and last in the league when hes not, thats one of the easiest eye tests in the NHL

His worst save percentage was .905 and his career average is .912 - he's still young at 27 but until he plays 50+ games a season a couple times you have to wonder if he has the durability to be a good starter or if he's more suited to be a very strong back-up but the truth is he hasn't had a lot of support in Buffalo.

Ullmark played well, but I thought the Bruins had a side bet, how many times can they hit him in the logo...lol..were they even trying to pick a corner?

Hes obviously better than anyone else they have but its hard to see how good he is. Is he a solid goalie is he a very good goalie or is he a decent goalie just hes being compared to guys like hutton. Personally i think hes a solid starter but its hard to tell just how good he is

If he didnt get hurt at vital times seemingly every year, i would put him in the 10-15 range

Sabres are 5-5-2 with him. I don’t think I would call them wildcard contenders. If he was in net in EDM they would be 1st in Canada.

Ya it doesn’t work like that.

Without him in net you are 100% the worst team in the league. But with him you’re not contending or a bubble team. Hopefully a new coach and some better asset management/drafting will push you guys into that spot but.. not this season in this division. Next season with the proper divisions you will be a bubble team in the division
