how else are you going to acquire a top line center? It's something almost every championship team needs. Someone to drive the play from the dots. I'm not saying you're wrong per se, they've been decent in spurts this season. But this is a franchise on the rise, and a guy like Eich will most certainly won't hinder it

You can't get a game changer 1c in free agency. Tavares is the exception, not the norm, and Gorton can't rely on that happening again
